Hydrotherapy Pool Volunteers We need some Volunteers to assist in
our Hydrotherapy Pool at Newlands House, Netherseal. We are a 24 hour Care Home with Nursing for
33 people with severe disabilities.
All are wheelchair users. The Hydrotherapy Pool provides
essential physiotherapy in a safe & therapeutic environment. Many people find that they can do much more
in the pool than they can do on land and it really helps with their range of
movement, pain relief, circulation and relaxation. If you can swim, can offer one
morning a week and are willing to undertake a bit of training, we would love
to hear from you. We need someone on Mondays,
Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays from about If you are interested, please
contact our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Lorraine Ray on 01283 763014/07738

All volunteers receive
training so that they feel comfortable in their role. We also undertake CRB checks on all of our
volunteers. Most residents would love
to have a volunteer who just comes in to chat to them once a week. These 'one
to one' volunteers are vital to Newlands. Some residents simply want to have
a friendly face to play a game of cards etc with or come in and read or write
for them. Help is needed in the
activities area to assist residents to paint, draw or make craft items. Craft
Day is Wednesday mornings from 9.30am. Volunteer expenses are paid and hours
are to suit you. You can do as many hours/days as you want and it is a great
way to make new friends. Support Group We
now have a new Support Group who meet bi-monthly on Monday's at 7pm.
This is a great way to help the Home, by organising fundraising, publicity
& awareness of Newlands House. If you have ideas, contacts, good
communication skills and are able to put words in to action, then join the
Support Group. Minute
taker required Our
Support Group requires a Minute Taker. If you are interested in helping out
you will need to be available to attend the meetings every 2 months on a
Monday evening, 7pm. They must be conscientious, literate, reliable and able
to type. Contact Lorraine for details. For an application form or
further information, please contact Volunteer
